I've lost faith in Singapore DOCTORS. If they can't even cure a tendon tear, I donno how to trust them with anything more severe...
I went to SGH on the 22/5/2007 for my tendon tear treatment..
Doctor was smart enough to identify it as a tendon tear and he promised that it would recover in 3 days. (It's been more than 33 days......) Having known the half-hearted way Sg doctors treat their patients, I had to double confirm.
"Healed BY ITSELF??"
"Ya."
"In THREE days?"
"Ya."
"So I DON'T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING?"
"Ya just rest and take the PAINKILLERS which I will prescribe."
(Eh doctor, painkillers are so superficial.. I don't wish to see u again u know..)
"Oh so it will heal COMPLETELY like before?"
"Ya."
*$80 bucks gone*
I remember very clearly that I asked those questions becos I was real doubtful of him and the way he approached my injury. See, I'm right. Just went to see a Sinseh in the morning.. (But she wasn't strong enough.. I felt that she was merely tickling me throughout the session.. Tried real hard to minimise my sniffle LOL) and perhaps Friday I'll go again to see THE BEST SINSEH IN SG. *promote promote* He's located at People's Park, reknown in Singapore among the Sinsehs. First-come-first-serve basis, and the queue-time takes appro. half of your day. And I'm not very pleased to say that HE KNOWS ME already.. Sigh...
Some tips prior to visiting a doctor
1) DO YOUR RESEARCH.
If you already know what you are suffering from, check the internet. Most of the time doctors say things that we can find out by ourselves. Moreover the internet provides more useful and detailed infomation. So if unnecessary, don't waste time and money on nothing.
2) PREPARE A LIST OF QUESTIONS
Make full use of your consultation, it ain't cheap. Grill the doctors, make them do their job. Best still, prepare some questions with ANSWERS to test the doctors and to sound knowledgeable. Just to confirm that they know their stuff and to feel secure in their hands.. Make it a learning session too.
3) KEEP YOUR MIND CLEAR OF EVERYTHING ELSE
The sessions may sometimes be useless but out of it, the doctor may say something that is worthy to be noted. So, nevertheless, concentrate fully for that 15 minutes. (or more if you have more enquiries) Prepare your heart also to hear undesirable news.

Perhaps money is the main driving factor in many professions (Be practical right?). But I feel if anyone wants to have a 'glam' job, then for goodness' sake, live up to the name. They really don't need to work overtime, just work their best in those regular working hours.. Most of the time people would gladly and willingly pay a little more if they feel that what they received is worth the money they are paying for. And one of the reasons people complain is perhaps because they feel shortchanged.
Well, just a little piece of my mind, don't really like to write a conclusion haha.. May be lopsided and absolute in some points..
